The legend tells us that many years ago, when Madrid was called Mayrit and it was a sieged city, a man climbed the high walls that surrounded the city with an incredible ability. From that very moment citizens from Madrid where called “gatos“ (cats).
In 2015 our publishing house was born in this city. Even if half of our staff is from Nordic countries, we very soon realized that “Gato Sueco“ (Swedish cat) was a natural name for us. From a side it was its place of birth and from the other it was our essence because we intended to aproach the literature from nordic countries to the spanish readers. We also wanted to create our own titles with the same idea of childhood and literature.
With the careful and delicacy as cats have, we look for titles that speak about universal questions. Trying to focus on childhood and youth without underestimate their capabilites. Books that permit them to create new questions and enjoy literature. Titles that offer them the whole diversity that exits in the world, something that was in our minds since we created the publishing house. A whole reality with different minds, bodies,emotions, people... Authors who represent the world in diverse ways both literary and artistic.
Queremos que las páginas de nuestros libros puedan contribuir a crear nuevos lectores y lectoras de mirada abierta y crítica, que sin perder nunca el sentido del humor y la diversión.

Y con el ánimo de llegar un poco más lejos, hemos creado esta nueva web, donde además hemos incluido un espacio para las traductoras con las que trabajamos, ya que sin ellas, nuestra labor sería imposible.
Somos una editorial pequeña y comprometida con las librerías a las que nos: su existencia es fundamental para que nuestro trabajo pueda llegar al lector. Hacen más ricos los barrios y son las mejores consejeras.
A través de los talleres y sesiones de narración mantenemos un vínculo con el público y llevamos a cabo una labor de fomento a la lectura. Verás que nuestro catálogo te remite siempre a la página de todostuslibros.com. Allí puedes ver en qué librerías se encuentran nuestros libros y adquirirlos directamente, o si prefieres, pedirlos online.
