JOANNA VENHO

Biography

She is one of the most famous finnish poets from her generation. She first published in 1998 with a collection Postia Saturnukseen, where she explores maternity and the tie between nature and humans, or adults and children in many diferent ways. In 2001 she won the critic prize with the second collection “without map“. On the last years she has been focused to children literature. In 2006 she won the Poetry Prize Katri Vala and she also won the Einari Vuorela, one of the most important prizes of poetry in Finland. In Gato Sueco she has published “Journal from the forest“, a poetic book that speaks about nature and the protection to the trees.
